I use this burner with a 15 inch cast iron skillet for frying burgers and fish, without stinking up the house. It needs to be set way down to keep it from getting too hot. I havent used it for boiling yet but it should do a good job as it gets very hot on high. I would give it 5 stars if it was made in the USA, but its made in China. And I like to support our economy with every chance I get.
