I bought this for starting lump charcoal for my Big Green Egg. I wanted to be able leave it outside and not worry about rust stains on the deck. The "not rusting" desire has been fulfilled but you have to handle this thing gently. The cutouts on the bottom leave a very thin strip of metal around the bottom and they will collapse if you don't handle very carefully. Also, the heat shield for the handle falls out easily and some of the rivets were loose when delivered. Overall this starter works very well, the lump charcoal turns into "lava" very quickly with just a couple of wadded up newspaper sheets.
