Charcoal Smoker Review

Got this as a gift for BIL. Though the metal is thin and the bowls for water and fuel could be bigger, this is a great smoker for the price.

Used it once so far in the winter at 30DEGF. We had to rig a three-wall insulator a few inches around the rear and sides to help with temperature control and air flow. Ended up having to remove the lower rack for the fuel bowl to sit on the bottom as well for better air. But after getting air and fuel quantities correct, this little guy really pumped out the smoke. The pork shoulder came out perfect after 11 hours.

The two adjustable air vents on each side are a great advantage, and the individual doors are helpful when you need to add more fuel or water. Accessing the meat from the front is a lot easier than the top on my other smoker.

Although materials leave more to be desired, this is a good smoker for the price. I wish I could find the same smoker, only upgraded for thicker materials and bigger. Can't wait to have my BIL use this when the weather will be more suitable - I know it's going to outperform other smokers around the same price, and it's already more functional than the others.
