We weren't sure what to expect this these and was pleasantly surprised how strong the stick is when fully extended. We used these right away to roast two hot dogs in the fireplace. They supported the weight of two dogs without any problem. The forks compress nicely for easy storage, unlike our old forks which were not telescopic. These will be nice for camping for both hot dogs and marshmallows.
